Recruiting the Right People
“Surround yourself with the best young people you can find, delegate authority, and don’t interfere as long as the policy you’ve decided upon is being carried out.”
Apologies for quoting Reagan, but this fits how we work at Stellasoft so well that I had to include it! I’ve been here for 3 months now and the motto certainly seems to be to employ bright young minds and trust them to get on with the task at hand. This is especially relevant for technology companies that are increasingly relying on the technologically-able minds of the next generation who have adapted to new and expanding technology and marketing techniques.
Having a trustworthy team starts within the recruitment process
We aim to employ ambitious young people who are focused on doing a good job and really want to make a difference.
“If you’re not interested in the thing, and if you’re just in it for the money, then you’re not really going to have a sense of achievement.” – Michael Lewis, Next: The Future Just Happened.
It’s easy to tell if someone is actually interested in the field they’re working in. We are always interested in interviewing candidates who are passionate about the job and want to succeed – but their definition of success cannot just be wealth. In a fast-paced environment, getting everything done to a high standard every day is a success in itself. At Stellasoft, we use systems to ensure that everything will get done, such as dapulse, and then are rewarded by leaving early once it’s all done.
